The Spectacular Lencois Maranheses

Last Tuesday, July 12th, we travelled to the Lencois Marahneses - enormous sugar white sand dunes dotted by crystal blue pools of water. We hiked over the dunes, swam in the lagoons, and enjoyed a wonderful sunset. Lencois is not well known outside of Brazil (even domestically, many people have never been to Lencois), however the experience was well worth the journey!
